As the title suggests, this is the site where we explain about gemstones. I will explain the stones that I particularly like in order.
What is your impression about stones? Give me 30 seconds! Or rather, think about anything you can think of about stones for 30 seconds..
Ornament for the entrance to the house? Fortune-telling items? Pretty colors? Just plain beautiful? Mysterious thing? No no.. Because the chemical formula for crystal and glass are the same, isn’t it just a structure? Charm? Fashion item? A mere rock that just fell in the riverbank along your walking course? (But it’s still an important rock!) ..There are many ideas of stones you can come up with. Whether you’re looking for something in stones, or not looking for anything in the first place, or think it’s pointless, etc… Everyone has their own thoughts about stones. But, I think that’s fine. “Stone is like this!” or “It has to be this way!” There’s no definition to stones in that way, nor is there a need for such definition. Don’t you feel like as long as you like the stones and treat it with care, that’s all that matters?
It’s probably about time I’ll be asked “what are you trying to say?”.. What I’m trying to say is that stones are very beautiful, mysterious, and has a charm-like existence. But they don’t have certainty, and combined with fragility that could break if dropped, they are somewhat an imperfect existence. That kind of casual-like existence is just right in my opinion. I personally think that it’s not a matter of keeping them at a distance, nor unquestioningly believing its existence as a stone. They’re not the same as shoes and clothes where its presence are there forever, but it’s better to think of a stone as a partner who will walk together a long journey in life.
However, this is just my opinion.. Each and every person has different way of thinking and perspective. That is why I will try not to be too subjective in my commentary. If you have a different opinion, then please look at it as “There are some who thinks this way”. Even the meanings and contents to birthstones and gemstones can vary between books (there was a revision of birthstones in 2021).
I have loved stones ever since I was little. I worked on rocks as a theme for research project and have studied them at the museum, which brings me here. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that ‘stones is my life!’ but I like stones and personally they are mysterious. Wishing, charms, paper fortune may be just a mere entertainment. But I think it’s worth the entertainment. It is impossible for those who humbly wishes to not get a positive outcome (But it’s not something to be delusional and believe it’s supposed to happen, and it’s also a nuisance to be so delusional). It’s not like “this stone is defined this way, so it must be this way!” Instead, “Because it’s beautiful to look at, I’ll put it on” + “it has this meaning! hmm..I wish that can happen” is, personally, the best way to handle it.
As you can see, stones are kind of like charms or wishful thinking sort of existence, aren’t they? I know it’s late to mention this after all this time, but I named this site, The Room of Wishing Stone, with that in mind. Like I said, everyone has his or her own ideas about stones, but I sincerely hope that we can share our passion and desire for stones through this site.
